Parking language roasted at Clarity breakfast
[16 July 2012] Clarity, the international group of (mainly) lawyers who campaign for plain legal language, held a breakfast meeting at the City of London law firm Ashurst LLP on 4 July.
The early birds were rewarded with an excellent breakfast and a talk by Martin Cutts of Plain Language Commission about how the language and layout of private-parking signs and payment demands were persuading many motorists into coughing up millions in phoney (ie, non-official) fines.
