Miliband slips on negative banana skin

[29 May 2013] Those pesky negatives do trip people up, in writing and in speaking. Labour leader Ed Miliband got himself in a muddle with one earlier this month during an interview on Radio 4’s World at One programme. In what was supposed to be a well-rehearsed soundbite, he asked:

‘Are our problems so deep that nobody can actually make a difference to them? My emphatic answer is yes.’

So that’s it, then, for Labour. Might as well let the Coalition soldier on for ever.
